    Why use a shaving soap, shaving gel, or shaving foam?

    When shaving, it's not only important to use a good and sharp razor, but a good shaving soap, shaving gel, or shaving foam is equally important. It ensures that the hairs and skin become softer, and pores open up.

    What is a shaving soap?

    A shaving soap is a solid shaving soap, a shaving soap block. The solid shaving soaps are natural shaving soaps, consisting solely of active ingredients. This is in contrast to shaving foam, which mainly consists of water. Shaving foam is often found in cans, which are less environmentally friendly, and we do not carry them in our range.

    Shaving soap for sensitive skin

    A natural shaving soap or shaving gel contains no chemical additives or substances that can irritate the skin. Therefore, a natural soap is suitable for sensitive skin.

    Vegan shaving soap

    A vegan shaving soap is free from animal ingredients and has not been tested on animals. All shaving soaps in our range are vegan shaving soaps.

    How to use shaving soap?

    • Moisten the skin and apply the shaving soap to the skin by rubbing the soap over the skin.
    • If you also use a shaving brush with the shaving soap, wet the shaving brush and move it over the shaving soap until a foam is created. Apply this foam to the skin.
    • Shave with the Oceonics safety razor.
    • Rinse well, preferably with cold water to close the pores.
    • Care for the skin with an aftershave, an alum stone, body lotion, or skin oil.

    What is a shaving gel?

    A shaving gel is a slightly thicker, liquid shaving foam. Shaving gel is similar to shaving foam but has a thicker structure that better protects the skin. By mixing the shaving gel with water, foam is created.

    How to use shaving gel?

    • Moisten the skin with warm water.
    • Apply a small amount of shaving gel to the skin and make circular movements until enough foam is created.
    • Shave with the Oceonics safety razor.
    • Rinse the skin thoroughly, optionally with cold water.
    • Care for the skin with an aftershave, alum stone, or body lotion.

    After shaving

    Take care of the shaved skin with a fine aftershave, body lotion, or skin oil. Avoid products with alcohol and perfume, as these can irritate the skin, especially if it's just been shaved. For cuts and nicks, you can use an alum stone.

    Alum stone

    An alum stone is a solid form of aftershave. By using the alum stone, bleeding stops quickly, and the skin is repaired. Alum stone also has disinfecting properties. Alum stone is natural, vegan, and suitable for sensitive skin.
