When we talk about the creams themselves, do we know what’s inside? And what it does for us and the environment? Most regular sunscreen products are harmful to the sea and coral. And we prefer to see our seas free of both plastic and chemicals.
Reef Safe Sun Protection
The products of Amazinc! are reef safe. Most commercial sunscreens are harmful to all marine life. Both the animals and the coral. If you dive into the waves with such a sunscreen, you leave traces of oxybenzone. This material is in almost every sunscreen product, because it is a UV filter. But it is also one of the most toxic substances in the cosmetic industry. When oxybezone comes into contact with coral, it fades and dies.
Why is oxybezone a problem?
Scientists have found that just one drop of oxybenzone impacts coral in an area of six (!) Olympic-sized pools. With more than 15,000 tons of sunscreen in the sea, this is therefore a worldwide problem.
But with the sunscreen products from Amazinc! you sit well and you can take that long expected dive into the sea without any worries. The little cream that comes off here is not harmful to the environment. Furthermore, the creams and sunblocks work as usual. Nice spreadable, a nice scent and most importantly: they protect you from the sun. With SPF50 you are baked – literally and figuratively. Instead of oxybenzone there is in the Amazinc! products a different UV filter. Namely a combination of natural minerals (Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Oxide and Lanolin) that protects your skin and leaves it hydrated.
And of course the Amazinc! Packaging is completely free of plastic. 100% safe for our oceans and for you.
